Stephen Goff’s entry into the plastics industry began “accidentally” when he accepted an analytical sales role at a polyester company shortly after graduating with a degree in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University. His work has deepened his understanding of plastics’ essential role across industries and in everyday products. Stephen points to his own glasses as a prime example, noting that without plastic components, eyeglasses, frames, and contact lenses would be inaccessible, impacting his daily life. His career has also connected him to a community of like-minded professionals, allowing him to engage in technical discussions about manufacturing challenges unique to plastics.
Now, with an additional engineering degree under his belt, Stephen is a process engineer at PolyQuest, a distributor and recycler of PET and other resins in the U.S. and Canada. In his current role, Stephen drives efficiency by analyzing the entire plastics supply chain—from raw materials to customer delivery—and provides data-driven insights that influence sustainable and cost-effective process changes.
