Since fourth grade, Lexington Peterson had her sights set on becoming a plastics engineer, inspired by a fascination with science and a growing concern for the environment. Now, with a BS in Engineering and working toward an MBA in Engineering Management, Lexington is a project manager in KraussMaffei’s Automation division, where she finds a community of inspiring, ambitious professionals. She values the knowledge passed down by industry veterans, a resource she fears is at risk due to an aging workforce and a shortage of skilled labor.

Looking ahead, she sees plastics as a promising field for her environmentally conscious generation, which values technology and social impact. She encourages young people to consider the plastics industry, noting its near-guaranteed job placement and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to environmental advancements.
